“The Neo-Punk”
Celebrating the latest collaboration between British brand Baracuta and Japanese brand Junya Watanabe, sabukaru took the iconic G9 jacket on a journey of Neo-Punk and modern Tokyo youth. We follow one of Tokyo’s rising stars in the club and fashion scene, ECEC [@ecec_fc], through a day in his life.
Our short film pays homage to both brands whilst also looking to the future, colliding Baracuta’s roots in Mod and Punk culture with Junya Watanabe’s fashion origins.
With the classic G9 being dressed in meticulous detailing and nuances Watanabe is known for, the result is an effortless contemporary design with callbacks to timeless style. This modern makeover is yet another addition to the partnership between Baracuta and Junya Watanabe that helps to bridge the gap between generations, whilst also flirting with the modern youth and inviting them to experience both brands like never before.
