DESCRIPTION

Production for the Tokyo edition of NOWNESS Asia’s “They Call Me...” series, a collection of immersive profile films capturing some of the most compelling individuals worldwide. Directed by Hong Kong-based filmmaker Rose Ng, this episode follows the story of Oshiruko Chan, a forever 17-year-old brought to life by an anonymous Tokyo-based performance artist and professional mask-maker. Blending cosplay, DJ culture and niche subcultures, the film explores themes of gender, fetish and self-expression through the surreal lens of animegao kigurumi.

Bianco Bianco led local production for the episode, bringing to life a story that sits at the edge of fantasy and reality. The result is an atmospheric portrait that offers a true reflection of Tokyo’s subcultural complexity, connecting strongly with global audiences for its bold perspective and visual vibrancy.
